Yesterday, in partnership with Sheila and Dominic from FLY SKYWARD AIRLINES, renowned journalist Alex Chamwada OGW, MBS , and the clergy from Elim Pentecostal Church led by Bishop Wilson Karioki Ngujiri, our Executive Director Hon Emal Carlos , joined youth at the church in Canaan for a powerful mentorship and community outreach session. The gathering brought together partners, faith leaders, and young people with a shared goal of inspiring hope and empowering the next generation.
During the mentorship session, Carlos Emal Hrd delivered a keynote address focused on relationships, career growth, and the importance of patience in achieving long-term success. He encouraged young people to make intentional choices, build strong character, nurture healthy relationships, and remain resilient even when opportunities take time to materialize. The session created a safe and engaging space for reflection, learning, and motivation for the youth in attendance.
The outreach also included the distribution of food items, clothes, and shoes to children, ensuring that families received both practical support and encouragement. The day stood as a strong reminder of the power of partnerships, mentorship, and compassion in uplifting communities and shaping a brighter future for young people.

Today, the Executive Director of SEDAT Kenya, Emal Carlos, had the privilege of holding a meaningful sit-down conversation with women from Kenya Power Village in Kanamkemer. The discussion created a safe and open space for women to share the challenges they face when accessing justice in Turkana.

During the engagement, many women highlighted barriers such as limited legal awareness, fear of reporting violations, economic dependency, and the long distances to institutions that provide justice and protection services. These challenges continue to prevent many women from fully realizing their rights and freedoms.

SEDAT Kenya remains committed to strengthening community awareness, empowering women with knowledge of their rights, and working with partners to make justice systems more accessible, responsive, and inclusive for all.

Today, SEDAT Kenya proudly joined the world in celebrating International Women’s Day 2026 under the theme “Give to Gain.” 🌍💜

The event was held at Kanamkemer – Kenya Power Village, bringing together community members, leaders, and partners committed to advancing women’s rights and empowerment.

This meaningful celebration was made possible through the partnership of SEDAT Kenya, the Turkana County Government, Youth Transforming Africa Narrative - YOTAN , Chapter IV Institute, and Loyanae Vision Foundation Together, we reflected on the milestones women have achieved in accessing justice, rights, and freedoms, while reaffirming our shared commitment to support women and girls across our communities.

Through dialogue, awareness, and collective action, we emphasized that when society gives women equal opportunities, support, and respect, the entire community gains.

SEDAT Kenya remains committed to promoting human rights, gender equality, and community empowerment across Turkana County.
