Imagine walking for hours just to find water.
For many families in Turkana, Kenya, that has been their reality.
In one of Kenya’s most drought-affected regions, water scarcity continues to impact daily life, forcing families to travel long distances in search of water for drinking, cooking, and survival.
This new footage highlights one of three boreholes being developed to help bring clean water closer to communities facing the ongoing drought crisis in Turkana.
When water flows, so does hope.

In Turkana, Kenya, access to clean water is a daily challenge.
Families often walk more than five miles across harsh terrain to collect water, and the water they find is frequently unsafe for drinking.
Three new boreholes will soon provide clean, reliable water for approximately 8,000 people, helping communities move beyond crisis and toward greater health, dignity, and resilience.

Her name is Progress, and this year reflects it.
In the Tashinga Community Garden in Fashu Village, Progress Sangu grew rapini, harvested enough to sell, and used that income to buy a cow for her family.
A mother of three in Pasi Village, Bikita, she took what she learned through Foundations for Farming and turned it into something lasting.

“The maize crop looked amazing. My wife would sing praises of how good our produce was.”
A grandmother raising her grandchild in Zvemisha Village, Bikita, Veronica took what she learned through Foundations for Farming and produced something her whole family is proud of. A harvest that fed them, sustained them, and gave them reason to celebrate.

It is about treating food as a human right and investing in communities for the long term.Since 2023, RYSR has delivered more than 13 million meals across the DR Congo, South Sudan, Cuba, the Middle East, and beyond — each distribution designed to sustain life for months, not just days.
The work is not finished. But today we reflect on what’s possible when communities are met with consistency, dignity, and care.

2.3 billion people around the world are dealing with food insecurity.
If conditions don’t change, an estimated 582 million people will be chronically undernourished by 2030. These aren’t distant possibilities—they’re present realities.
Since 2023, RYSR has delivered more than 13 million meals to people facing hunger—providing nourishment, dignity, and hope when it was needed most. Over the past two years, this relief has reached more than 65,000 people worldwide. In the Democratic Republic of Congo alone, 3.5 million meals were delivered over the last year, serving approximately 17,500 people. And in the Middle East, more than 22,000 people have received meals during an acute crisis.
