As Hunger Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the impact made possible in Cuba. RYSR helped provide 1,000,000 meals. Our partner, SERV International , helped provide another 1,000,000 meals.
Together, 2,000,000 meals reached families facing extreme hunger and food insecurity.
These efforts helped support an estimated 2,000 to 3,000 families, providing critical food assistance when it was needed most.
Behind every meal is a family. A story. A reminder that access to food cannot be taken for granted.
Thank you to everyone who made this life-saving response possible. While Hunger Awareness Month is ending, our commitment to responding to hunger continues. Together, we’re saving and sustaining lives.

September is Hunger Awareness Month.
For millions of families around the world, hunger is not a statistic. It’s a daily reality.
That’s why RYSR has responded with an emergency food distribution effort in South Sudan.
On September 14, $25,000 was sent to help provide emergency food assistance for 500 families across five communities, delivering life-sustaining meals to households facing severe food insecurity. Families in Naliel, Jie, Namurpus, Bongo, and Lotimor will receive critical food support.
For parents wondering where their children’s next meal will come from, this response brings relief when it is needed most.
Hunger awareness must lead to action. Together, we’re helping save and sustain lives.

Imagine walking for hours just to find water.
For many families in Turkana, Kenya, that has been their reality.
In one of Kenya’s most drought-affected regions, water scarcity continues to impact daily life, forcing families to travel long distances in search of water for drinking, cooking, and survival.
This new footage highlights one of three boreholes being developed to help bring clean water closer to communities facing the ongoing drought crisis in Turkana.
When water flows, so does hope.

In Turkana, Kenya, access to clean water is a daily challenge.
Families often walk more than five miles across harsh terrain to collect water, and the water they find is frequently unsafe for drinking.
Three new boreholes will soon provide clean, reliable water for approximately 8,000 people, helping communities move beyond crisis and toward greater health, dignity, and resilience.
