UPDATE: Turkana Health CECM, Dr. Esekon Joseph Epem has taken a swipe at Team Okoa Turkana (TOT) following their recent presser, questioning the political alignment of Turkana Senator James Lomenen.

Thank you, Captain Ibrahim Traore. Most difficult aspects in a man's or country's life show that education is not the solution, but rather common sense. Rich people or politicians think they have the money and access to import food and water from abroad, but what about the ordinary people who voted them into power? So, they say education allows them to think deeply, but rather it's for selfish gain. Check all of history, from all great empires that once ruled the world - those leaders used common sense and God-given wisdom, not education, because education makes you soft and accepting of anything.

UPDATE: Turkana Central MP Emathe Namuar has recounted how he identified his stolen camel among recovered livestock in West Pokot, highlighting the importance of livestock branding in pastoral communities.

The MP spotted his camel bearing the “EN” brand at Wakor, Kapenguria, prompting police intervention that led to the recovery of 12 camels that were being transported for sale.

"On 31st March at about 12:30 p.m., while en route to Lodwar from Kitale, I identified my camel (bearing the “en” brand for emathe namuar) among twelve at Wakor in Kapenguria Sub-County, West Pokot County. I reported the matter to Ortum Police Station, leading to the interception of the animals, which were being driven to Eldoret for slaughter and sale." he stated

He said, the animals are linked to the February 25 raid in Kakong’u, where over 320 camels were stolen, exposing a wider livestock theft syndicate.

" This incident has exposed a wider syndicate commercializing livestock theft linked to raids and banditry. The affected elders had lost over 320 camels during the 25th February 2026 raid at Kakong’u, with some of the recovered animals forming part of that loss."

Namuar commended the DCI and security teams for swift action, and acknowledged support from Turkana South MP Ariko Namoit in facilitating the handover to rightful owners.
