A Kenyan lady, Peris Maranga, was travelling from Nakuru to Kisii by matatu when she met a hawker at the stage.
She wasn’t planning to buy anything.
But the hawker told her something that stayed with her:
“Even if you are not buying, just ask the price. It gives me hope.”
The goods the woman was carrying were worth KSh500.
Peris paid the KSh500 and told her to keep all the goods and continue selling.
To Peris, it may have been just KSh500.
To that woman, it was more than money. It was hope. Encouragement. A reminder that someone sees her struggle.
Sometimes we think we need millions to change someone’s life.
We don’t.
A little kindness, given at the right moment, can make someone’s entire day.
Never underestimate the impact of the small good you can do today.
