Lamu Yoga Festival

Lamu Yoga Festival ✨Celebrating wellbeing, community, culture & connection.

🗓️ Oct 31 - Nov 4 2025 🧘🏼‍♂️

Together with Africa Yoga Project, the people of Lamu organize this festival to empower, strengthen and give community support by encouraging harmony in mind and body through the practice of yoga. Lamu, with its tropical climate, excellent variety in accommodation, miles of empty beaches and no cars, makes an ideal destination to leave behind the stresses of a fast paced modern life. The ready availability of fresh seafood, vegetables and fruits further contribute to its suitability as the Health and Wellbeing destination of Kenya. For LYFe a variety of yoga classes will be available in Shella, Lamu and Manda, on the beach, and different venues. Other highlights will include a dhow race, workshops, fun competitions, and a grand finale full moon beach party with Lamu drummers and acrobats. Register for this amazing festival online and be part of the third Lamu Yoga Festival.

Meet the Teacher: Alexandra Spyratos

Australian yoga and fitness teacher, art therapist and international artist Alexandra Spyratos brings a creative, dynamic approach to movement shaped by years of teaching across Australia, Africa and Europe.

Trained in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow, Alexandra blends fluid asanas, core strength, balance and imagination to create practices that engage both body and mind.

At this year’s Lamu Yoga Festival, she’ll bring two distinctive practices to the island: Aqua Yoga and Chi Ball Yoga Flow, inviting us to explore movement in a playful and unexpected way.

LYFE goes beyond the mat.

It’s the practices we share, the people we meet, the music, the movement, the conversations, and the nights that bring us together.

From sunrise sessions to evenings under the Lamu sky, the festival is a week of connection, discovery and celebration on the island.

Meet the Teacher: Neha Erasmus

With over 20 years of experience across teaching, healing, consulting and change-making, Neha brings spirituality into the heart of personal and real-world transformation.

Her work explores the connection between our inner evolution and the realities we create around us. Through intuition, insight and immersive practices, she guides individuals and organisations to look beneath the surface, shift deeply rooted patterns and open new possibilities for transformation.

At the centre of her approach is a simple yet powerful idea: meaningful change begins within.

Meet the Teacher: Sumali Jayasinghe

Originally from Sri Lanka and now based in Mombasa, Kenya, Sumali is the founder of Sadhana Yog Shala and brings over 12 years of teaching experience to her practice.

With more than 1,300 hours of teacher training, her approach draws from Hatha, Ashtanga and Iyengar therapeutic yoga, alongside posture and alignment, mobility movement, pre- and postnatal yoga, pranayama and breathwork.

Meet the Teacher: Rebekah

Where science meets inner awareness.

Teaching yoga since 2010, Rebekah brings together a background in chemical engineering with years of dedicated practice in Hatha Yoga, breathwork and meditation. Her journey has taken her to India for 10 months of study, to teachings with the Dalai Lama, and through 122 days of silent meditation retreats.

Rooted in both knowledge and lived experience, her teaching explores yoga as more than movement: a practice connecting the physical, psychological and spiritual.
