Lamu Education Support Organization A CBO that empowers young learners in Lamu primary schools to have good access to basic education services to enable them improve their learning outcomes. 1. ii.

Overview:

Lamu Education Support Organization (LESO) is a Community Based Organization established on 4th March, 2016 and officially registered on 13th December, 2016 by the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Services Kenya. The main objective of the organization is to empower young learners in public primary schools in Lamu County to have good access to basic and quality education services

that enables them improve their learning outcomes. This will be realized through multidisciplinary approach of working together with community members, partner organizations and government both county and national government. LESO being a youth led organization, the management and the secretariat is comprised of young, talented and self-driven youths equipped with different knowledge, capabilities and experiences in community development initiatives.

2. Our Vision

To be the most leading community based organization that works with community members, partner organizations and government in order to improve both academic performance and adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) knowledge in primary schools in the county.

4. Our objectives

i. Empower the identified community members to realize the significance of basic education to their children. Impart sexual and reproductive health knowledge to young adolescents in primary schools. iii. Work with county government of Lamu, national government and stakeholders to identify and formulate bylaws and policies that will improve and sustain areas of needs affecting young learners in the county.
