Earlier this week, Manda Youth Action Group took part in a one-day stakeholdes engagement under the Coordinated Misinformation Forum, held through the TrustLab Project funded by the with support from DW Akademie.

The forum convened journalists, digital creators, civil society actors, and youth representatives to confront the escalating challenge of misinformation in our communities. As a youth-led movement, we engaged in forward-looking conversations on strengthening digital awareness, sharpening verification skills, and encouraging responsible use of online platforms.

Through open discussions and shared experiences, participants unpacked current misinformation patterns affecting our locality and explored joint solutions to limit the spread of harmful and misleading content.

For Manda Youth Action Group, the engagement underscored the power of youth leadership and collective action in protecting our digital spaces and shaping a more informed, resilient future.

Earlier this month we joined hands with to stand in solidarity with the people of Manda following the continued threat posed by wild animals roaming freely near homes and farms.
Our community is living in fear. Children cannot walk to school safely. Farmers are counting losses as crops are destroyed. Families are watching their livestock attacked. Just recently, another incident left residents shaken and desperate for protection.
As young people of Manda, we refuse to remain silent. We believe that community safety is not optional — it is a right. Development should never come at the cost of human life, dignity, and livelihood.
We call upon the relevant authorities to:
Take immediate action to guarantee the safety of residents
Ensure proper security measures are put in place
Compensate affected families for their losses
Engage the community in transparent and accountable decision-making
Manda deserves protection. Manda deserves justice. Manda deserves to live without fear.
As youth, we stand united. Our voices matter. Our safety matters. Our future matters.
