A total of KES 929,250 has so far been disbursed, helping widow-led groups strengthen their businesses, create sustainable livelihoods, and build stronger, more resilient families and communities.

During visit by WeWorld under the sikiliza sauti yetu project , widow farmers under the Tuwajali wajane kwale demonstrated the results of the climate-smart agriculture project through harvesting produce from the shade houses. The activity showed successful adoption of skills in drip irrigation, crop management, and climate-smart farming. The harvest contributed to improved household food security, while surplus produce provided an opportunity for income generation. The visit also strengthened farmers’ confidence, ownership, and commitment to sustaining the initiative beyond the project period. # unliwerestoretheirdignity

With support from CCGD under the JASIRI Project, Tuwajali Wajane Kwale held a quarterly work-planning meeting with Project Resource Persons and paralegal implementers in Msambweni and Lunga-Lunga Sub-Counties. The meeting focused on coordinating beneficiary follow-ups under the skilling, grants and loans pathways, as well as SGBV case management.
These follow-ups will enable the team to track beneficiaries’ progress, identify challenges early, and provide timely support and referrals. By monitoring beneficiaries’ participation and outcomes, the team can address barriers that may limit the effectiveness of project interventions and help ensure that support leads to meaningful and sustainable improvements in livelihoods, protection and well-being.
For SGBV cases, continued follow-up will strengthen access to appropriate services and support survivors throughout the case management process. In this way, the follow-ups will link ongoing implementation to project outcomes, helping ensure that JASIRI’s support reaches its intended beneficiaries, produces lasting results, and contributes to positive change in their communities. Today Tuwajali Wajane Kwale has conducted a SACCO education drive, with the support of our SACCO officers, reaching 42 widows from Lunga-Lunga Sub-County. The sessions will be carried out in various parts of Msambweni and Lungalunga subcounty focusing on financial literacy, savings, responsible borrowing, SACCO governance, and effective use of digital financial services.
The drive strengthened women’s knowledge and confidence to save, access affordable credit, grow businesses, and build financial independence. It contributes to TWK’s goal of promoting sustainable economic empowerment and resilience among widows and women in Kwale County. # widows matter

📚 International Literacy Day – Kwale County 🌍

Today, Tuwajali Wajane Kwale joined stakeholders and community members in commemorating International Literacy Day at Forest Park, Msambweni.

For women, especially widows, literacy means more than reading and writing—it means confidence, dignity, knowing our rights, accessing opportunities, and having a voice in decisions that affect our lives.

We believe it is never too late to learn. Let us continue promoting adult and continuing education so that every woman has an opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

An empowered woman is an empowered community.
