📒Apprecentship Classes:

Today we had practical lessons on various electrical facets we had earlier been thought and how they operate collectively including:
•Double Gang Switch: to control two lamps.
•Double Socket: source of power to all electrical appliances.
•Both Analogue and Modern CCU (Main Switch) and how they control distribution of power to entire household/industry etc.

We hope these lessons will enable us to acquire necessary skills and expertise needed in the electrical field.

Apprecentship Classes:

Today as part of our Electrical Classes we were thought on how electricity is transmitted from the meter box to the CCU unit (Main Switch) and further distributed to various electrical components i.e lights/lamps and sockets (for electrical appliances e.g. TV, fridge e.t.c.

Further we learn that the Main Switch Comprises of:
•Double Pole: Live wire input from Meter Section to circuit breaker.
•Circuit breaker: Control Live wire inputs to various electrical components i.e. lights and sockets.
Type 16 and 20 used for lamps while type 20, 25 and 30 used for sockets.
•Neutral and Earth Bar: Controls both Neutral and Earth inputs/outputs.

Also we learnt diagrammatically on how to wire both lamps and sockets.

Today we had engagement with representatives from SHOFCO (Shining Hope for Urban Community) Organisation at Kiteje Maskani.

We had thorough discussion and introduction on their areas of focus and programs being offered for the benefit of youth and community.
Their major focus include:
1. Welfare within members of shofco incase of emergency and disaster.
2. Health Benefits.
3. Sustainable Livelihoods, business skills and vocational training.
4. SACCO and savings.
5. GBV: addressing domestic and community violence through prevention and mitigation.
6. Community Libraries: giving access to knowledge, resources and research.

In attendance were Mr Abdullah Mwatsumo; (Youth Leader and Mombasa County Shofco Representative) and Mr Frederick Fukwe; (Networking personnel and SACCO Dep. officer).
