Today I'm grateful that the girl (grade 9 candidate) we supported with a pack of sanitary pads yesterday has reported to school this morning.
Lack of access to sanitary pads should not be the reason why a girl misses school.

A PERIOD SHOULD NEVER STOP A GIRL FROM LEARNING

Today, I received a heartbreaking report about a Grade 9 girl who had missed school for two days simply because she was on her period and could not afford sanitary pads.

Her story touched my heart. I immediately provided a pack of sanitary pads since I had a few in my house—but one pack can only help one girl for a short time.

Thousands of girls face the same reality.

Through the “Keep Her in Class” Initiative, we are calling on well-wishers, partners, and menstrual health champions to help us ensure that no girl misses class because she lacks sanitary pads.

A pack of pads can keep a girl in class. Your support can keep many girls there. 💙

EMPOWERING MHH PATRONS TO KEEP GIRLS IN SCHOOL 💙🌸

Today, the Director of Giving Hopes to the Hopeless Organization had the privilege of training Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) Patrons at a school as part of our commitment to creating safe, informed, and supportive learning environments for girls.

The training focused on strengthening patrons’ knowledge and capacity to support learners with accurate menstrual health information, promote menstrual dignity, challenge stigma and myths, and ensure that girls can confidently manage their periods while remaining active in school.

We believe that when teachers are equipped with the right knowledge, they become powerful champions for girls’ health, dignity, confidence, and education.

Through our KEEP HER IN SCHOOL initiative, we continue working with schools, patrons, learners, and partners to establish Pad Banks, provide menstrual health education, and support girls who face challenges accessing menstrual products.

Together, we can break the silence, end period stigma, and ensure that no girl misses school because of her period.
