Child Rescue Kenya street children, children in need, orphans, kitale, kenya CRK operates three projects. This project also provides a community clinic.

These are Birunda Village Community Project which is primarily an emergency rescue centre for children and is the only one of its kind in the entire county. Another of our projects is Liyavo Childrens Centre. This is a long-stay facility for those children who cannot be reunited with family. Our third project is Street Smart, a drop-in centre for street children.

Our Story

CRK has worked with vulnerable children and youth in Trans Nzoia, Kenya for many years, starting in the late 1990’s with an emergency rescue centre in Liyavo. Since then, the organisation has evolved and now concentrates on poverty prevention and alleviation and rescue and reintegration of street children. Projects include emergency shelter and drop-in centre for street children incorporating a mobile school, education and food assistance, training of youth and families in income generating skills, business grants, a women’s loan scheme, bio intensive agriculture and a cow pyramid scheme. We work with families to assist children found on the streets to be reintegrated into a loving home, while also training families and youths to have a secure future.
