As we celebrate Pride Month, we honor the courage, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQ+ people in our communities and around the world.

Pride is a reminder that everyone deserves dignity, respect, equality, and the freedom to live authentically. It is also a time to reflect on the ongoing work needed to create inclusive, safe, and just societies where no one is left behind.

This month, and every month, we stand in solidarity with LGBTQ+ individuals and communities, championing human rights, diversity, and belonging for all.

Happy Pride Month Fahm!! ๐ŸŒˆ

IDDDDD-m-proud of us? ๐Ÿ˜… While everyone else was treating Eid al-Adha like a actual holiday, the Kisumu Shinners were booked, busy, and breaking a sweat at the AFYA YETU study launch. Because who needs rest when there are data collection safety guidelines to write? ๐Ÿ“œ๐Ÿ’ผ

๐Ÿค Strengthening Partnerships for Justice and Health!

On May 26th, Kisumu Shinners joined key stakeholders in criminal justice and law enforcement including the police, prosecutors, and the ODPP alongside community members for a critical scale-up engagement.
โ€‹Supported by the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC) at the Rockwell Hotel, this meeting was a powerful platform for PBOs, CSOs, government officials, and affected communities to share progress reports.
โ€‹Recognizing that we cannot do this alone, we co-created a clear roadmap to strengthen our collaborative approach and pathways. Together, we are committed to deepening our understanding and response to HIV, TB, human rights, and centered care.

Building bridges through collaboration and lived experience ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

Last week at Gita Sub County Hospital, we held a CME training focused on strengthening collaboration between healthcare providers and the community in delivering inclusive, dignified, and people centered services for GBMSM and MSW communities.

Through meaningful conversations on service delivery, inclusion, integration, integrity, empathy, and lived experiences, we continue to create safer and more responsive healthcare spaces for everyone. Together, we are fostering partnerships that prioritize respect, trust, and equitable access to care.

This Wednesday, held a powerful outreach session focused on advancing health, awareness, and wellbeing. We engaged young people on Lenacapavir a promising new injectable PrEP option in HIV prevention creating space for learning, questions, and informed choices.

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, we also had an impactful conversation on mental health, self-care, and practical ways to protect our wellbeing as we navigate lifeโ€™s challenges. Because true health goes beyond prevention it includes caring for both our bodies and our minds.

Mental health matters every day, not just this month. Take time to rest, reflect, heal, and recharge. Together, we can break the silence, challenge stigma, and create safer spaces for honest conversations about mental wellbeing.
