🌟 Just 40 Cents Can Change a Life 🌟

Imagine this: for only 40 cents per person, we can run a program that provides:
💧 Clean water
📚 A structured educational program
🎨 Arts and sports activities
🍽️ A nourishing meal (milk, protein, bread, fortified biscuits, and a candy!)

This small amount also covers tents to shield from the blazing 30°C sun, the staff of 10, and all the supplies needed to bring this to life.

In partnership with Naweza Films, United in Film is making this happen in the Manyatta slums of Kisumu, Kenya—a place where the average family of five lives on less than $1 per day.

We’re not just offering food and water; we’re offering hope and a chance to thrive in a community where opportunities are so limited.

Your support, no matter how small, can make a HUGE difference.
👉 Just 40 cents can change a life.

💡 Let’s come together to create brighter futures.

Today, two of United in Film's first ever program participants were awarded the top prizes of the Uganda Communications Commission's Western Region Film Awards! Such a huge congrats to Best Female Creative, Sarah Kyomugisha, and Conold Kimonge, for his film THE TRUTH.

Both filmmakers are also founding members of Oweitu Films, Western Uganda's most active film NGO, and United in Film's Ugandan program partner.

It's more heartwarming than I can describe to see Sarah and Conold's journey from folks who had never seen - let alone used - a DSL camera, to people who are becoming leaders within Uganda's filmmaking community.

Here's to their ongoing success, both as filmmakers, and as trainers of the next group of Western Uganda filmmakers!

This week, members of United in Film's Ugandan partner, Oweitu Film Foundation, received four of the twelve nominations available for the Ugandan Regional Film Awards. Additionally, our administrator, Sarah Kyomugisha, was one of three women nominated for Best Female Creative!

It's hard to believe that when we first went to Kabale, Uganda 8 years ago, the sight of even a DSLR camera resulted in the team being surrounded by dozens of people, all amazed to see the technology being used in their town. Now, even a much more advanced set-up wouldn't cause most to bat an eyelash.

It's been an investment of a ton of resources, but achievements like this really reinforce the impact that one small NGO can have on a community, or even region.

Good luck to all of these amazing filmmakers at the awards ceremony later this month!
