Recently, the Wakonyu team visited Fr. Kraakman at Mill Hill House KIsumu to bid him farewell as he is soon to retire back to his home country, the Netherlands. A special thank you to Father for his endless support of Wakonyu beneficiaries over the years. We wish you nothing but good health, happiness, and long life 🙏

About us

Wakonyu Orphans Support is a community based organization, which is dedicated to helping families that have generously adopted children who are orphaned as a result of HIV and AIDS. These children are often adopted by their relatives, especially by their grandparents. The needy families are normally identified by our community representatives within the slums and peri-urban areas of Kisumu town.

Wakonyu provides these families with hospital insurance that covers all the family members, including the adopted orphans. The health insurance cost per family per month is 500 kenyan shillings, which is the equivalent of 5 euros per month. This comes down to 6000 kenyan shillings, 55 euros, per year per family.

Wakonyu kan dus goed uw support gebruiken.
