Miss Dala Fest WHY DALA? The brand ‘Dala’ is effective because of the thematic cultural and HIV/AIDS orientation this event will take.

DALA because it means ‘home’ in Luo; one of the many tribes in Kenya, and home because this is where every person from whichever tribe, country, race and religion identifies with. Kisumu county has the highest prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Kenya. Making it a suitable location to stage Miss Dala and sensitize people on the two fold theme: HIV/AIDS and Culture. Culture is what gives meaning to home alon

gside family and strong values. It would expose the events uniqueness since most pageants focus on Western influences which don’t reflect the diversity and beauty of what is at home, in Kenya and Africa as a whole.
