As we close our books for the year, we take time to reflect on the milestones and impact of TJ’s interventions in 2025.
One of the highlights was our engagement during World AIDS Day, which provided a valuable platform for cross-learning, idea exchange, and the distribution of essential commodities to our communities.
We also made significant progress in innovation with the development of a prototype for the MUTU Application, a crowdsourced digital platform designed to capture real-time incidents of stigma and discrimination. Once fully developed, this tool has the potential to be a game changer in evidence generation, advocacy, and accountability.
In addition, we advanced our exchange program, which will support the successful implementation of the Nourish+Health Project. This initiative aims to enhance the health and wellbeing of sexual and gender minority (SGM) persons living with HIV in Kisumu’s informal settlements through integrated interventions in nutrition, genetics, and inclusive healthcare.
Over time, TJ has established a strong research foundation through the implementation of community-based research. Evidence generated from this work has continuously informed and strengthened our programming and interventions. This year, we are particularly proud that TJ is a key partner in the ongoing research literacy capacity-building under the Imarisha Initiative, which seeks to train over 46 SGM organizations.
As we close our offices for the festive season, we look ahead with optimism and renewed energy toward 2026. Our offices will remain closed until 8 January 2026, after which we will resume operations refreshed, re-energized, and ready to deepen our impact.
