Home Follow-Up Update – Mary Akinyi Misula

On May 16th, Safari Of Hope had the privilege of building a home for Mary Akinyi Misula, a young widow from Asembo in Siaya County, and her children. We are deeply grateful to Ridin High Cowboy Church for partnering with us to provide this family with a simple, safe, and decent home.

A safe home restores dignity, protection, and hope to families facing difficult circumstances. Although the house was completed just last month, we are already impressed by how well Mary has cared for and maintained it. Her commitment demonstrates the value and impact of this blessing on her family's life.

At Safari Of Hope, our goal is not only to build houses but also to ensure that they are well cared for and remain sustainable for years to come. Seeing beneficiaries take ownership and pride in their homes encourages us and confirms that these projects are making a lasting difference.

Thank God we were able to distribute eggs to the first group of beneficiaries. We will be conducting the second distribution tomorrow.
We would like to sincerely thank all our donors who have supported the Safari of Hope chicken project. Your generosity has made a significant impact on the lives of many elderly people in our community.

APPEAL TO OUR PARTNERS, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY
Dear Partners, Friends, and Family,
We are urgently appealing for support to help vulnerable families living in unsafe and collapsing houses.
Edwin Ouma and his wife Emily from Asembo, Siaya County are living in a small mud house with a leaking roof. In 2024, they sadly lost their infant due to cold and harsh conditions, and today they are still raising their young baby girl in the same unsafe home while two of their children suffer from pneumonia.
We also stand with Leutina, an elderly widow living in a deteriorating house, as well as other widows facing similar heartbreaking conditions.
In addition, Dalmas is also in urgent need of a decent home, as he is currently living under a house with a badly damaged and leaking roof.
Together with other identified vulnerable families, we are seeking support to build six safe and decent homes to restore dignity, safety, and hope.
Families are sleeping under leaking roofs
Children are falling sick due to cold
Widows are living in unsafe houses
Hope is fading — but we can restore it

Five years ago, Carolyne lost her husband and was left alone to care for six children. With no house, no stable income, and little hope for the future, life became extremely difficult for her family.

Many nights were spent hungry and exposed to rain and cold in a temporary shelter that offered very little protection. Through the support of our generous partners, Safari Of Hope was able to provide Carolyne and her children with a safe and decent home.

Today, we are encouraged to see that Carolyne has taken great responsibility in caring for the house she received. Her commitment reflects one of Safari Of Hope's core values: ensuring that every family entrusted with our support takes good care of the resources they receive.

We would like to assure all our partners and supporters that Safari Of Hope continues to monitor our projects and work closely with beneficiaries to ensure long-term impact and sustainability.
