Girls Learn Initiative is intentional about adolescent girls’ wellness through education and ensuring access to information for adolescent girls.
Every school holiday, we convene adolescent girls in , for afternoons of fun, learning, and networking among each other. We also meet with girl survivors of GBV for counselling and psychosocial support.

This holiday LGLI had a Health talk on Mental health and wellness, which also included conversations on gender equality and gender stereotypes. We also distributed dignity/care kits including underwears, soap, tissues, sanitary towels, and diapers (for teenage mothers).

The initiative to supply dignity kits is supported by Feminists in Kenya

Today, as we honour the memory of every Kenyan who stood up for justice, and paid the price. We remember the lives lost, the youth disappeared, and the dreams disrupted. Here are some tips on how to share this information with teenagers and children.

Taking care of ourselves isn’t selfish, it’s essential. As feminists and gender justice advocates, our work demands energy and resilience. When we prioritize our well-being, we fuel the fight for a more just world.

LGLI staff were privileged to join other feminists for a reflection session and selfcare, sometime late last year. And oh! what a transformative impact that has been to our work with rural adolescent girls. We intentionally remember to set boundaries, practice mindfulness, and creativity, and to lean on community for support and strength.
