The Heart Behind Fadhili Dada
I founded Fadhili Dada because I understand, personally, what broken systems do to vulnerable girls. I lost my mother as a child during the HIV/AIDS crisis in Migori, and despite my best efforts as a young caregiver, I also lost two teenage sisters to the same epidemic. Their deaths were not just medical tragedies—they were the result of poverty, broken homes, and lack of protection.
When I planted Crossroads Fellowship Church in Kisumu in 2011, I encountered the same cycle repeating itself through widespread teenage pregnancy. In 2016, one statistic changed everything: 586 teenage pregnancies were recorded in Kisumu East alone. It became clear that moral teaching without economic and social protection was not enough.
Fadhili Dada—meaning Sponsor a Sister—was born to provide that protection. We rescue pregnant teens and young mothers from crisis, offer safe shelter, childcare, trauma-informed counseling, vocational training, and help them reconcile with their families. Since 2021, we have:
Rescued 78 pregnant teens and young mothers
Mentored 4,200+ girls in prevention and life skills
Reunited 47 girls with their families
Returned 34 to formal education
Provided daycare for 26 children
Trained 12 young women in entrepreneurship with access to startup capital
Today, Fadhili Dada fills a critical gap in the social protection system of Kisumu—serving girls who are already in crisis and have nowhere else to turn. Your partnership does more than fund a program; it restores dignity, rebuilds families, and interrupts generational poverty.
Together, we are turning vulnerability into victory—one sister at a time.
