🌍 Towards a Cleaner Nyalenda – Community Action in KaLegion Market! 🌿

In our ongoing mission to create a cleaner, healthier environment, we recently organized a community clean-up around KaLegion Market in Nyalenda. With the incredible support of our partners and volunteers, we successfully cleared a long-standing dumpsite that had made the road unusable for years.

🚧 Today, that road is clear and passable — and the community is celebrating this positive change!

But this is just the beginning.

To continue this vital work and manage waste more effectively, we are kindly appealing to well-wishers, organizations, and partners to support us with:

🧤 Protective gear (gloves, overalls, masks)

🧹 Cleaning tools (rakes, brooms)

Thank You for Making a Difference!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and participated in our clean-up event! Together, we helped restore our community spaces.

But this effort is about more than just a clean market and streets — it’s a step toward climate action. Proper waste management reduces harmful emissions, prevents pollution, and protects our ecosystems. Every piece of litter removed is a contribution to a healthier planet.

Let’s keep the momentum going. Reduce, reuse, recycle — and advocate for responsible waste practices in

Building Resilience Together! 🌱🤝

WNyalenda DreamBuilders Youth GroupthNyalenda DreamBuilders Youth Groupup participated in an event organised by SDI-KENYA and the Liverpool School of Medicine partnered with the Nyalenda community under the Urban TRaCS Project to promote inclusive and participatory community resilience games.

These activities are designed to:
Empower marginalized voices
Foster collaboration
Strengthen communities from the grassroots

Because true resilience is built when everyone has a seat at the table.

We Nyalenda DreamBuilders Youth Group attended a Green Climate Fund (GCF) Sensitization at Kiya

The Kisumu County Agricultural Officer conducted a sensitization session at Kiya on the upcoming Green Climate Fund (GCF) project, to be implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in collaboration with Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB).

The project, entitled “Transforming Livelihoods through Climate Resilience, Low Carbon, Sustainable Agricultural Value Chains in the Lake Region Economic Bloc, Kenya (CRLCSA)”, aims to promote climate-smart agriculture and sustainable value chains.

In Nyalenda A Ward, African leafy vegetables and fruits value chains have been prioritized for implementation.

Call to Action:
All groups and CBOs engaged in the above value chains are encouraged to apply for consideration.

Application Deadline: End of this month.

Youth Are Taking the Lead in Shaping Sustainable Futures!

Today, Kisumu County was ignited with energy and purpose as young people, civil society organizations, government representatives, and development partners came together to celebrate International Youth Day 2025 under the theme: “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond.”

The day was a powerful celebration of passion, innovation, and resilience — a space where youth took center stage to showcase how they are advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their own communities. From climate action and health advocacy to entrepreneurship and leadership programs, one message rang loud and clear: youth are not waiting for change — they are driving it.

The event featured:

Breakout sessions to foster collaboration,

Engaging panel discussions exploring pressing youth issues,

Vibrant exhibitions highlighting youth-led innovations, and

Edutainment performances that fused learning with culture and creativity.

To recognize the hard work behind the scenes, certificates of appreciation were awarded to committee members and partners who played a vital role in planning and executing this successful celebration.

For Dreams Builder, being part of this momentous gathering strengthened our belief in the transformative power of youth. We remain committed to:
