A missing person is not just a statistic, they are someone's child, parent, sibling, or friend. Kenya must enact a standalone law to criminalise enforced disappearance.Enforced disappearance is a grave human rights violation, not a policing strategy. We demand accountability, justice, and a law that protects every Kenyan. Beyond Ebola: The Role of Communication and Public Trust in Health Emergency Management

As conversations continue around Kenya's proposed Ebola management facility in Laikipia, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: effective health emergency management is not just about medicine—it's about communication, trust, and community engagement.

Join us for an insightful discussion as we unpack critical questions around public trust, misinformation, risk communication, international cooperation, and the role of young people in shaping resilient health systems.

This conversation will explore an important question:
Is Ebola the real crisis, or is the communication gap the bigger challenge?

Together, we will reflect on what the recent developments mean for Kenya's health preparedness and how we can strengthen public confidence in future health emergencies.

On 3rd June 2026, Winam Social Justice Centre participated in a consultative training on the criminalization of enforced disappearances and the operationalization of the Victim Protection Act, 2014.

As cases of enforced disappearances and abuses of power continue to raise concern across Kenya, there is an urgent need to strengthen accountability, protect victims and their families, and uphold the rule of law.
We stand in solidarity with victims and human rights defenders calling for justice, transparency, and effective implementation of victim-centered laws and policies.

Together, we can build a society where every person is protected, every victim is heard, and every violation is accounted for.
