Understanding NGOs and CSOs financial management is about taking action to manage finances effeciently and involves:
👉Planning Finances
👉Budgeting
👉Managing cash flow
👉Recording transactions etc

Building Blocks of an effective financial management system should:
👉Have a clear financial policy and policy
👉Have competent staff
👉Have reliable accounting systems and records etc

Yesterday our Executive Director and Co Founder Ms Nancy Edwards Ayoma represented the team on a planning meeting convened by Kisumu County Gender Technical Working Group for the commemoration of the International Day of the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict.

The meeting brought together representatives from government departments, development partners and various stakeholders to discuss preparations for the forthcoming event, and define roles and responsibilities.

Many organizations are doing impactful work, but without strong financial systems, sustainability becomes a challenge.

Financial resilience is not just about getting funding. It’s also about managing resources wisely, diversifying income, and planning for the future.

Today we joined in fellow CSOs for an insightful webinar which opened our eyes to the reality of managing funds, organizational operation even without funding, scaling up, budgeting etc..

Sexual Minority Women continue to face SGBV based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Cases of corrective r**e, forced marriages, family rejection etc have been reported and documented over the years. As an organization CHADALA continues to champion for an end to violence and discrimination targeting young LBQ Women living in the rural and informal settlements of Nyanza Kenya(Kisumu and Siaya County).

With the able support of our partners, we continue to amplify our voices of inclusion and recognition further, while boldly taking up spaces no one imagined we could.

Thank you for this wonderful cross learning opportunity, where we also had the chance to meet and listen to stories from our sisters from Somalia and Ethiopia..
