At Charity Begins at Home, we believe that helping teenagers understand who they are is an important part of helping them grow into confident, responsible and purpose-driven young people.

During the Teens Forum in Mnarani , Kilifi, we explored Self-Awareness through an interactive and engaging session. Using art, fun games and participatory activities, we created a safe and joyful space for the teens to reflect on who they are, understand and manage their emotions, recognize their strengths and weaknesses, and appreciate the unique life and purpose God has given each of them.

The session reminded us that knowing yourself is the beginning of making better choices, building healthy relationships and walking confidently in the purpose God has placed within you.

Be yourself. Know yourself. Grow yourself. Live the life God gave you.

We were delighted to join other partners in Kilifi for the Post-International Literacy Day celebration, under the theme “Literacy for People, the Planet and Prosperity.”

For us at Charity Begins at Home Initiative, the celebration was a reminder that literacy is more than the ability to read and write—it is about creating opportunities, nurturing purpose, and empowering people to shape a better future.

True fulfilment is found not only in what we achieve for ourselves, but in what we give, the lives we touch, and the knowledge we pass on. Through generosity and mentorship, we can equip young people with the confidence, skills and opportunities to become a light for others.

Charity begins at home—and when we give, mentor and invest in others, we create a ripple of impact that extends far beyond ourselves.
