HUMANITARIAN INOVATION PROGRAM
This is a program that is being implemented in two areas within kisumu County, in kisumu east and Nyando.
The program is funded by UNICEF through department of special protection. The program is set to run for 2yrs.
Among the activities in the program is a comprehensive assessment for children with disability that will inform mapping.
For that reason,
NCPWD, Department of medical services, public health and sanitation together with the Department of Education special needs in partnership with UNICEF are planning to conduct mass assessment and ecitizen registration for children and persons with disabilities in the following areas:
1. 19th and 20th August -Ahero Multipurpose Hall
2. 21st and 22nd August -Joel Omino secondary school.

*Tragic Police Shooting of Autistic Teen in Nakuru, Kenya*

With a heavy heart, I must share the tragic news of a police shooting during the ongoing finance bill 2024 demonstrations in Nakuru, Kenya,
which claimed the life of a 17-year-old autistic young man. This senseless act of violence has devastated his family and the community.
The young man, known for his kind spirit and resilience, was caught in the midst of a crowd when the police opened fire. This tragic event highlights the urgent need for better training and protocols for law enforcement when dealing with vulnerable individuals, particularly those with disabilities.
We call for a thorough investigation into this incident and justice for the young man and his family. It's crucial to raise awareness and demand changes to prevent such tragedies from happening again.

This is key because the process captures ideas and opinions that will later be used in order to enrich the act.

County rehabilitation and disability mainstreaming coordinator receiving Occupational Therapy unit from Miral foundation on 21st May 2024 at Ahero subcounty hospital on behalf of the department of medical services, public health and sanitation.
This unit will play a major role in management of children with nuerodiverse.
The department acknowledged the efforts of Miral foundation.

One of our mandate is to psychologically support special mums, Winam Child Without Limit had the honour of hosting 2 psychologist from Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association who took our parents through the management of fear,stigma and other issues emanating from raising a child with special needs.
We appreciate KCPA,and especially Mr. Fred and Mr. Zachary who offered support to the special parents.

Cancer is a killer and yet some are preventable. Cervical cancer is the 2nd most killer cancer in women and the most preventable. Yesterday Winam Child Without Limit was part of men against cervical cancer run that was flagged off by CEC gender at Lumumba sub county hospital. A great number of girls aged 10 to 15 years were vaccinated against HPV, a sure way of prevention.
To parents out there, let your daughters aged 8 to 12 years be vaccinated. As for women, avoid s*x with multiple partners.
