We were delighted to join the Obinju Kanyakwar Primary School community, one of the schools in our Jihimarishe Program, as learners marked Cultural Day through traditional dances, music, cultural attire, and the crowning of Mr. and Miss Obinju Kanyakwar.

Arts and culture help nurture confidence, identity, creativity, and a sense of belonging. These experiences shape how children see themselves and connect with their communities.

We are proud to support spaces where children can celebrate who they are, grow in confidence, and develop the skills they need to create positive change in their communities.

✨ Our Quarter 2 Highlights are here ✨

Throughout the past three months, we continued creating safe spaces where and could learn, heal and thrive. From supporting entrepreneurship and promoting mental wellbeing to empowering adolescents with knowledge and life skills, every programme was designed to help young people build brighter futures.

🎓Congratulations Cohort 1

We are proud to celebrate the graduation of young people from the Okiri Digital and Financial Literacy Project after six months of training and support.

The program equipped participants with digital skills, financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, mentorship, psychosocial support, and seed capital to help them begin their business ideas with their parents.

This milestone reflects the commitment of the young people and the support of parents, trainers Kayz Omollo Juma, mentors Gloriane Achieng, Brian Ongoro, Terry Mongina, Ian Karroli', Ian Otieno, Aurrellia Achieng' and partners who made the journey possible.

We extend our appreciation to Ero kamano, Rotary Club of Kisumu, Deroarts, Zone01 Kisumu, Fablab Winam, HOK AFRICA, Vivien, Jijenge Youth Organization and Modesh Bakers for their contribution to empowering this cohort.

We are proud of the graduates and look forward to the businesses, careers, and ideas they will build next.

Yesterday, we spent the day outdoors as part of our Mind and Nature program, bringing young people together for a wellness picnic centered on connection, rest, and mental wellbeing.

Under the theme , the picnic created an opportunity to step away from daily pressures, enjoy nature, build friendships, and simply be present in the moment.

A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us and to all those who contributed their time, and energy to make the day possible. Your support helped create a space where young people could relax, connect, and experience more good days together.

We spent the day at Kisumu Children’s Remand Home with HoK for a Physical Development Day focused on mental wellbeing as part of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Through football, the young people shared moments of connection, teamwork, joy, and confidence while also creating space to process emotions and release built up stress in a healthy and supportive environment.

Physical development creates room for expression, discipline, healing, and belonging. Days like this remind us that movement and community can play an important role in mental wellbeing.
