The period Caravan.
It is with great humility and appreciation that I feel obligated to mention that the event that we held on the 18th at Oseno school in Siaya county which drew both boys and girls as well as teen mothers was indeed a big success.

We saw dedicated volunteers, champions of change and professionals stooping low enough to allow the children whisper their challenges and aspirations into their ears. The support they gave was fathomless. The efforts they applied was driven by both passion and cherished values.

This was only the second edition yet the impact is already resonating beyond the scope of the period Caravan. I saw the teen mothers walking in holding their babies. By and by the the crowd was building, small children were not left behind. Painful tears could sting your eyes as the adolescent girls and boys asked emotional questions.

Young women came too and their presence was equally palpable. They sat under a tree waiting for their turn. No, it wasn't their day but they sat there silently expecting that paradventure benevolence would come into play and someone would give them attention. Their silence was deafening. It was as though we carried the solutions. Yes, I believe we are holding a Beacon of Hope. By the time the event drew to the close we already had actionable resolutions.

Goshen kids CBO is organizing the PERIOD CARAVAN to Siaya county on the 18th of April this year. This event has been organized by Goshen kids CBO. We are targeting more 300 girls and 200 boys.
We are working around 5 thematic areas being:

-Menstrual education
-climate Smart menstrual health.
-Mental health and wellness.
-sports, Arts and Talent development.
-Leadership development.

We are therefore appealing for support.
1-sanitary kits (pads, soap, panties etc)
2-clothes
3-food stuff
4-balls
5-stationery for students.
6-boxers for boys
7-trees.

We intend to do mentorship sessions for boys and girls, plant trees and Mental health sessions.

It was on the 28th April. We woke up to a bright morning. Friends and partners came fully ready for the D-Day. Yes, WRITE TO LEARN program. The event brought together students from 5 schools with 300 children. Meeting at Joy Springs Educational Centre the children enjoyed the day. Working under the Theme: Power a dream, One Pen at a Time, we discussed different Tracks; SDGs, Mental Health, Leadership and Carrier Guidance, Arts and Talent development.

Yesterday, 28th March 2026, Goshen Kids CBO and Saabiko Group of Friends successfully hosted the Write to Learn program. An initiative dedicated to championing access to quality education and the provision of essential learning materials to schools in Kibera.

In collaboration with our valued partners and friends, we were able to create a vibrant, impactful and memorable day for the learners. The program was thoughtfully designed to go beyond just distribution of materials, offering a holistic experience that nurtured knowledge, creativity and personal growth.

Learners engaged in a variety of targeted mentorship tracks, including leadership and career guidance, where they explored their potential and future pathways; creative arts, which unlocked their imagination and self-expression; sports and talent development, encouraging teamwork and confidence; climate education, fostering environmental awareness and responsibility; SDGs awareness, helping them connect local action to global goals; and mental health and wellness, creating safe spaces for reflection, expression and support.

The energy of the day was further elevated by electrifying icebreaker sessions that brought excitement, laughter and connection among the learners, mentors and facilitators. Every moment reflected the power of collaboration, intentionality, and community-driven impact.

Indeed, Write to Learn continues to stand as a testament to what is possible when we come together to educate, equip and sustain the next generation.
