We were honoured to participate in the Mental Health Conference in Kisumu, where we had the opportunity to present on the psychosocial experiences of children living with HIV in grandmother-headed households.

The conference provided a valuable platform to share experiences, learn from others, and strengthen conversations around mental health, psychosocial support, and the wellbeing of children and caregivers.

At Kivulini Jamii Initiative, we remain committed to creating supportive communities where children and families can thrive.

We had the privilege of facilitating a mental health awareness talk for members of the Mothers' Union at ACK St. Mark's Migosi Parish. We discussed mental wellness, self-care, and the importance of creating supportive communities. Thank you to the Mothers' Union members for their active participation and commitment to promoting mental well-being. The session was facilitated by our own phychologist Ann Oganga and Christine Emily

Today, Kivulini Jamii proudly participated in the Day of the African Child celebrations in Kisumu under the theme:

"Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa."

This year's theme reminds us that access to clean water, safe sanitation, and proper hygiene is a fundamental right for every child. These basic necessities are essential for children's health, education, dignity, and overall well-being.

As we commemorate this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to advocating for children's rights and supporting initiatives that create safe, healthy, and child-friendly communities. Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive in an environment that safeguards their future.
