POWER DADA
we are a community based organization, based in Kisumu County with a focus on creating a safe community for women and girls in the slums of Kisumu, it has grown and expanded to the Western region of Kenya. (Girls of age 10-24 years)
It was founded in January 2019 by a young woman who grew up in one of Kenya’s slums to help empower girls and create a safe community for women and girls a

nd a society where they enjoy their rights and can dream big enough, this is for girls not to go through the same challenges she went through when growing up. As the name suggests it is meant to ignite the potential of other women to allow them grow and advocate for their rights. It runs the following programs

 Mentorship

 Sexual Reproductive Health
Young women and girls o age 10to 24 continue to suffer from the worst reproductive health indicators and yet a lot can be done to ensure our nation has healthy women/women have rights to highest attainable standard of health. This program focuses on championing for reproductive health and rights of women through advocacy, information and education of SRHR.

 Gender Based Violence
Throughout the world women continue to suffer from different kinds of violence even though they are protected with the different treaties and even our constitution. We focus on creating a safe community for women and girls by conducting community dialogues and advocating to improve the process of social justice and training women on how to protect themselves, and thus a safe community where women and girls are protected from all forms of violence

 Periods Matter
This is an initiative to help keep girls in schools through educating them on menstrual hygiene management as well as donating menstrual products to demystify the myths and misconceptions and stop stigma due to periods both in school and in the community through community conversations and education on the same .We also do advocacy for policy implementation and formulation on MHM.
