Radiant Roots Africa is a youth-led movement grounded in the belief that every young person deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported.
Across Kenya, many LGBTQ+ youth continue to navigate spaces where their identities are misunderstood, silenced, or excluded. These realities often take a toll on mental health, self-worth, and the ability to fully show up in the world. At Radiant Roots Africa, we are intentionally creating spaces that challenge this.
We exist to advance mental health and leadership among LGBTQ+ youth by building safe, affirming, and community-driven environments. Through our work, we support healing, encourage self-expression, and nurture the confidence needed for young people to lead, organize, and thrive.
Our approach is rooted in care, dignity, and connection. We believe that healing is not meant to happen in isolation, it grows in community. We believe leadership is not reserved for a few, it exists in every voice that dares to speak, every story that is shared, and every individual who chooses to rise despite challenges.
Radiant Roots Africa is more than an initiative, it is a growing community of resilience, courage, and possibility.
We are here to create spaces where q***r youth are not only supported, but empowered to become leaders of their own lives and within their communities.
