We would like to thank all of you who purchased the Jam from Sadie Hunt the £70 raised came in handy to pay school fee for one of the children who might have missed end term exams!

We currently do not have any sponsors and the children in our care continue needing the care and support that we give them. So you can imagine the kind of relief when we receive any amount.

For five continuous months, our Akina Garden has been nourishing us with fresh, homegrown harvests. Watching the basket fill with bright cherry tomatoes and rich green leaves is a daily reminder of what happens when we commit to growing our own food. Every meal gathered straight from these vines and garden beds has been a quiet blessing.

As the heavy El Niño rains approach, we know this lush season in the garden will soon take a pause. The changing weather will make it hard to maintain these delicate crops, and we will certainly miss stepping outside to pick fresh produce for our table. But even as the skies shift, we carry forward deep gratitude for everything this patch of earth provided, the hands that tended it, and the self-reliance it built in us.

Here’s to every seed planted, every harvest shared, and the lessons learned as we prepare our soil and our hearts for the next season. 🌱✨

Today, two of our amazing young men are graduating from their training program! We couldn't be prouder to see them reach this significant milestone.
​As they prepare for college, the practical, hands-on skills they’ve gained will not only build their independence but also empower them to generate income while pursuing their studies. Equipping our youth with tangible tools for self-reliance is at the heart of everything we do.

This year’s global theme, “Gain to Give,” resonates deeply with everything we do at Akina Ties. It is a reminder that what we receive from our community, we pour back into the lives of those who need it most.
Today, on International Women’s Day, I choose to honor two very special children who were direct beneficiaries of your incredible kindness and support. Although they have since departed from us, their determination and resilience remain etched in our hearts.

These two children came from completely different walks of life, but they shared a common bond: a lifelong battle with chronic illness that required extensive, specialized care. They are the true heroes we shout out today.

Despite the immense challenges they faced, our dedicated sponsors and supporters took it upon themselves to ensure we could provide them with a long, high-quality, and dignified life. Because of you:
• They gained access to the best medical care.
• They never went without the medicine they needed.
• They felt the warmth of a community that refused to give up on them

On behalf of Akina Ties, we want to thank each and every one of you. You didn't just give money; you gave life, comfort, and hope until the very end.
