As we begin this new month, we also step into the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence — a global call to protect, uplift, and stand with survivors.

💛 I rise for every girl who has been silenced.
💛 I stand for every mother who has been judged unfairly.
💛 I speak for every child who deserves safety, dignity, and love.

This season, may we all choose compassion over cruelty, justice over silence, and protection over fear.
Every voice matters. Every girl matters. Every story matters.

✨ Let this month remind us that change begins with us, and together, we are unstoppable.

I am my mother’s daughter and I have seen how girls are born into societies that measure them differently, where their worth is often questioned and their voices overlooked. I have watched my mother bear the heartache of being a woman without a boy after we lost our only brother.

In the shadows of society, girls are ignored, mothers with no boychild are judged, and both face invisible violence that scars the heart. We must end discrimination against mothers with no boychild. If mothers keep losing their sons, can they still be blamed?

Why should a house be demolished, and a mother sent away, simply because she has no boychild? How long will society punish them for circumstances beyond their control? And why should those meant to protect mothers, the chiefs and leaders, take bribes and create more injustice for them?

Today, during these 16 Days of Activism, we raise our voices—for every girl, for every mother, for every soul silenced by discrimination. 💔👧🏽🌿
