16 Days of Activism: UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls – 2025

In Kenya today, many women and girls face abuse not just at home or in their communities, but also online – through hurtful messages, threats, or harassment on social media. Digital spaces should be safe, not places of fear.

At Daraja united Women & youth Empowerement Organization, we believe every woman and girl has the right to live safely – online and offline.

This 16 Days of Activism (Nov 25 – Dec 10), we call on everyone to:

1. Speak out: Don’t stay silent when you see digital abuse.
2. Stand with survivors: Offer support and guide them to help.
3. Educate: Share tips for safe online spaces with friends and family.
4. Use your voice: Post, share, and advocate to

Together, we can make sure that the internet is a space where women and girls can thrive safely.

On this World Contraception Day, we are reminded that choice matters. In Kenya, 57% of married women use modern contraceptives, yet 14% still lack access despite wanting to delay or avoid pregnancy. Progress has been made, with contraceptive prevalence rising from 27% in 1989 to 63% in 2022, but more must be done. We call on government, health providers, communities, and individuals to expand access, increase funding, fight stigma, and ensure every person can make informed decisions about their reproductive health.

Reproductive choice is a human right, not a privilege. Today, let’s commit to strengthening agency, intention, and access for all Kenyans.
