Today : No Shame

TODAY’S VERSE
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.” Psalm 51:1-2 (NIV)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Shame and guilt have so many of us in bo***ge. If it is not actual shame, it is the fear of being shamed. Yet this is not the way of life God has chosen for us. David knew this. In today’s passage, David is appealing to God to forgive him. He came to Him with complete abandonment, crying out for mercy, asking God to cleanse him from all his sin. He was counting on God’s unfailing love and compassion. Likewise, we come to God, through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, asking that all our sins be forgiven. But do we really believe that happens? Are we really forgiven? We need to get to that same place of trust that David was in. We need to know and experience the freedom that comes from the forgiveness of Christ. David accepted himself as clean. Will you? Live in His forgiveness today.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I refuse to believe that You are ashamed of me or that you will abandon me because of my transgressions. I confess my sin and accept the death of Christ on the Cross as the substitution for my wrongdoings. Help me Lord rise, not in arrogance, but humility, knowing that I am cleansed and accepted by Your unconditional love. I choose to accept myself as forgiven and not ashamed. In Jesus’ name.

Lusaka here we come; this is an open door to Lusaka for AGM because God himself, wants us to be there. Several moons ago we gathered in Harare to listen to what God had to say. Today, we are trusting God to take us to Lusaka for the same task. We pray for every country in the Southern African block for the same task.

It is a beautiful thing to see brethren join together to celebrate the goodness of the Lord as they share their journey of faith with one another.

We joined together from eight countries across the continent of Africa brought together under the banner, Difference Makers Conference in Nairobi, Kenya.

God is doing great work in us before he does a great work through us. We are forging real relationships and intentionality in what we do. We love God, we love People!

He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn; and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.(Ps 78:5-7).
Passing the button to the next set of leaders to carry on with the mission. The legacy you leave behind, you make it today! Back to the very basics of Christianity right from the great commission to the great commandment.

Our God is the giver of the seed to the sower and bread to the eater.
Our part is to continue trusting him even when it looks like the mission is impossible. Look at how tough it was with Abram, but he kept his gaze upon the Lord and to him he directed his frustrations.

15 After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:

“Do not be afraid, Abram.
I am your shield,[a]
your very great reward.[b]”
2 But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit[c] my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”

4 Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” 5 He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring[d] be.”

6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

7 He also said to him, “I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.”
