84 Youth Enrolled! SCF & Village Administrator Spearhead NYOTA Sensitization Forum

Today, Sports Connect Foundation (SCF), with the support of the Village Administrator, successfully hosted its first Youth Sensitization Forum under the NYOTA (National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement) Program—a transformative initiative under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, replacing KYOP.

This impactful program, currently accepting applications for its business support cycle, aims to empower young people with financial literacy, entrepreneurship skills, and economic opportunities.

During the session, we proudly enrolled 84 youth, taking a critical step toward self-reliance. Discussions focused on pressing challenges such as poverty, unemployment, poor saving culture, and the desperation that often forces youth into risky shortcuts. Through this engagement, we encouraged strategic planning, smart financial habits, and leveraging available opportunities to create sustainable livelihoods.

Who Can Apply?

✔️ Youth aged 18-29 years
✔️ Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) aged 18-35 years

Our offices remain open to assist more youth in securing their spot in this life-changing program. Don’t miss out—your journey to empowerment starts now!

The Power of Parental Involvement in Education: A Call to Action

At Sports Connect Foundation, we strongly believe that parents play an irreplaceable role in shaping their children’s educational journey. A parent’s guidance, encouragement, and active participation can be the difference between a struggling student and a thriving one.

Yet, despite the immense power that parents hold in influencing their children’s academic success, we are witnessing a growing gap in parental involvement in education. Many parents have stepped back, leaving the responsibility solely to teachers and schools. This disengagement has negatively impacted education levels, leading to declining academic performance, lack of discipline, and a widening gap in student motivation.

But education is a shared responsibility—schools alone cannot do it. Parents must be fully committed to walking with their children through their academic journey, ensuring they have the support, mentorship, and motivation needed to succeed. Simple actions like attending school meetings, following up on homework, engaging in discussions about school life, and encouraging a reading culture can make a world of difference.

At Sports Connect Foundation, we are calling on:
✅ Parents—to be more engaged in their children's education, offering both academic and emotional support.
✅ Stakeholders—to step up and create incentives and awareness programs that encourage and remind parents of their vital role.
✅ The community—to foster a culture where education is valued, and every child gets the opportunity to excel.

When parents and stakeholders unite in supporting education, we create a strong foundation for the next generation. Let’s work together to bring back parental involvement and uplift the quality of education in our communities!
