Today, Mkipaji CBO successfully conducted an impactful session in **Mariakani Majengo Village**, engaging youths on critical issues affecting their lives and future.

On December 14, Mkipaji CBO, Pathway to Wellness, and Mariakani Youth Empowerment Group held a mental health and substance abuse awareness activity. The session educated youths on managing mental health and the effects of drug abuse. Participants actively shared ideas on avoiding drugs, identifying causes such as peer pressure, stress, curiosity, ignorance, and lack of information. The group resolved to become ambassadors of the message and promote positive change in the community.

Today, Mkipaji CBO, in partnership with Madvocate CBO and the Mariakani Youth Empowerment Group, hosted a session at the Youth Empowerment Centre to educate youths on gender-based violence (GBV), early pregnancy, and prevention strategies. As part of the ongoing 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the session aimed to address and reduce violence against women in our community. The event included engaging discussions and a screening of Uamuzi film, highlighting these critical issues. Youths actively participated and pledged to be ambassadors of change, promoting a safer and more equitable society.

Migundini Rangers Crowned Champions at Inaugural World AIDS Day Tournament in Mariakani

The inaugural World AIDS Day tournament, held in Mariakani and organized by M-kipaji CBO in collaboration with WOFAK, Mariakani Media, Inua Vijana Initiative, and SHOFCO, concluded in thrilling fashion today. The event, which attracted a diverse crowd from various communities, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of health screenings among the youth.

The tournament not only offered exciting football matches but also served as a platform for educating young people on the significance of regular health check-ups.

A standout moment was the presence of Joshua Achila, a highly respected referee with over 12 years of experience in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) and 9 years as an international FIFA referee. Achila officiated the matches, bringing added prestige to the event.

On the pitch, Migundini Rangers emerged as the 2024 World AIDS Day tournament champions, defeating Young Stars from Mwareni 2-0 in the semifinals. They then faced Brilliant FC in the final, which ended in a 1-1 draw. In a tense penalty shootout, Brilliant Soccer Academy was defeated, securing the title for Migundini Rangers.

The tournament proved to be an event worth watching, blending competitive football with important health awareness initiatives, and leaving a lasting impact on the community.
