We were privileged to be part of 3 days training starting on 11th -13th which designed in different modules on data protection.

This is a timely discussion given the sensitive data that our organisation handle concerning staff and board members, volunteers, and beneficiaries.

Our key lessons are data privacy is a human right and organizations have to comply with data protection act of 2019.

This is the second month of training and we are hopeful to attend all the modules in the month of September.

In partnership with the Fund and TICAH, we engaged the County Health Management Team (CHMT) in a session aimed at enhancing understanding of the Kilifi County Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) Act 2025, its key provisions, and the roles of various stakeholders in its implementation.

The engagement provided an opportunity to discuss implementation priorities, strengthen ownership of the Act, and reinforce collective commitment towards improving reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health outcomes across Kilifi County.

In partnership with the Department of health, County legal department, YVAI, KELIN, and TICAH, we successfully conducted Sub-County Dissemination Forums on the Kilifi County RMNCAH Act, 2025, across Rabai, Malindi, and Ganze sub_Counties.

The forums brought together key health stakeholders, including healthcare workers and the sub-county health teams to create awareness and enhance understanding of the provisions of the Act.

The engagements provided an important opportunity to discuss the rights, responsibilities, and commitments outlined in the Act, while also highlighting the role of different stakeholders in supporting its effective implementation at the sub-county and community levels.

Through these forums, stakeholders were able to engage in meaningful discussions, clarify areas of understanding, and identify opportunities for coordinated action towards strengthening access to quality Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) services across Kilifi County.

These engagements mark an important step towards translating the provisions of the RMNCAH Act, 2025, into action and ensuring that the Act contributes to improved health outcomes for women, children, adolescents, and families across the county.

We joined the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health, the County Department of Health, the Reproductive Health Coordinator, the county directorates, other civil societies and, the legal experts, for the dissemination of the Kilifi County Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) Act and the development of a roadmap for drafting its implementing regulations.
The engagement underscored the importance of a strong legal and policy framework in safeguarding the health rights of women, children, adolescents, and young people. Through collaborative discussions, stakeholders explored the provisions of the RMNCAH Act, identified implementation priorities, and laid the foundation for regulations that will guide service delivery, accountability, financing, and coordination across all levels of the health system. This process reinforces Kilifi County's commitment to universal access to quality reproductive and maternal healthcare services.

We believe that effective regulations should not only operationalize the Act but also ensure that every young person, regardless of location or background, can access comprehensive, affordable, and rights-based healthcare without barriers.
Angaza Youth Initiative remains committed to working alongside government, civil society, healthcare providers, and other partners to support dissemination of the Act to healthcare workers at the sub_ County level.
