We joined the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health, the County Department of Health, the Reproductive Health Coordinator, the county directorates, other civil societies and, the legal experts, for the dissemination of the Kilifi County Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) Act and the development of a roadmap for drafting its implementing regulations.
The engagement underscored the importance of a strong legal and policy framework in safeguarding the health rights of women, children, adolescents, and young people. Through collaborative discussions, stakeholders explored the provisions of the RMNCAH Act, identified implementation priorities, and laid the foundation for regulations that will guide service delivery, accountability, financing, and coordination across all levels of the health system. This process reinforces Kilifi County's commitment to universal access to quality reproductive and maternal healthcare services.
We believe that effective regulations should not only operationalize the Act but also ensure that every young person, regardless of location or background, can access comprehensive, affordable, and rights-based healthcare without barriers.
Angaza Youth Initiative remains committed to working alongside government, civil society, healthcare providers, and other partners to support dissemination of the Act to healthcare workers at the sub_ County level.
