Support Appeal for Kilifi GK Prison Mental Health and Wellness Visit – 2nd July 2025

Dear Friends

We are planning a meaningful visit to Kilifi GK Prison on 2nd July 2025 to conduct awareness sessions on mental health, gender-based violence (GBV), and drug abuse. This visit aims to offer support, create awareness, and bring hope to the inmates.

To make this day impactful, we are appealing for your kind support to help us provide basic hygiene items such as bar soaps, toothbrushes, toothpastes, and coconut oil (mafuta ya n**i).

Your contribution will go a long way in promoting dignity and well-being among the inmates as we engage them in these critical conversations.

Today, we successfully conducted an outreach activity at Majajani Secondary School in Kilifi County focusing on key areas affecting students’ well-being. The sessions covered Mental Health Awareness, Career Building, Drug Abuse Prevention, and Hygiene and Health Education. We also issued sanitary towels to female students to support menstrual hygiene management. The engagement was well-received and provided students with vital information and resources to support their personal and academic growth.

World Menstrual Hygiene Day Event Report – Sokoke Ward, Mwahera Sub-location, Kilifi (28/05/2025)

I wish to update you on a successful event held on 28th May 2025 in partnership with SHOFCO Organization and Freedom 4 Girls Organization marking Menstrual Hygiene Day at Mwahera Sub-location, Sokoke Ward.

We engaged over 700 young women in a transformative session focused on:

- Menstrual hygiene management

- Economic empowerment

- Civic education

- Leadership and governance

As part of the support effort, we distributed over 450 reusable sanitary towels, promoting dignity, health, and sustainability for vulnerable young women in the area.

The event received a warm reception, and the impact was visibly positive. I thank you for your continued support in empowering our young women and advancing health equity in Kilifi.

Restoring Hope, One Girl at a Time!

Today was a heartwarming milestone for Salma Jefa, a young girl from Chumani who dropped out of school in 2023 due to early pregnancy and was later abandoned by her mother. Two weeks ago, Salma visited our office with a strong desire to return to school and build a better future.

Thanks to a timely encounter with the CEO of Ochaka Suit Foundation, who generously committed to covering her school fees and provided essential school supplies, Salma's dream is now a reality.

In partnership with Ochaka Suit Foundation, Kilifi Alliance Organization proudly facilitated Salma’s return to school at Karakacha Primary School today. Her courage and determination inspire us all.

Together, we are restoring hope and transforming lives—one step at a time.

Restoring Hope, One Step at a Time

Today at the Kilifi Alliance for Peace and Development Initiative (KAPDI) office, we hosted our partners from Ochaka Suit Foundation for a collaborative and impactful day.

Together, we visited a vulnerable young lady who had dropped out of school two years ago due to early pregnancy, a result of the poverty she faced at home. In a heartwarming gesture, the Ochaka Suit Foundation provided her with school necessities and committed to covering her school fees. She is now set to rejoin Grade 5 at Chumani Primary School, with arrangements in place to ensure her baby is cared for as she returns to class.

Through this support, her dreams have been reignited and her future reimagined—proof that hope is powerful when shared.

We also took time to visit Mwangaza Children’s Home in Kilifi, where we spent quality moments with the children and shared words of encouragement and solidarity.

We are grateful for this partnership with Ochaka Suit Foundation, and we look forward to more joint efforts in uplifting lives across our community.
