Together for a Brighter Future πŸ’œ Our Co-Founder and epilepsy Specialist, Eddie Chengo shares a moment with the Executive Director and co-founder of Kuhenza for the Children Mr. Leonard Mbonani, a partnership that has positively impacted the lives of many children with epilepsy in Kenya over the years 🀝

Through the continued support of Kihenza for Children, we have been able to reach and support children with epilepsy and their families through care, education, and advocacy.

As we celebrate the power of partnership and community, we wish you a healthy, productive and blessed week ahead from all of us at the Foundation for People with Epilepsy and Kuhenza for the Children.

We were honored to host Baraka Chula at our clinic after his remarkable journey walking from Malindi to Nairobi. His walk aimed to showcase his innovative solution, MCard, while inspiring others through determination, creativity, and resilience.

Initiatives like these highlight how long-distance walks can be powerful tools for creating awareness around important causes, including epilepsy, while bringing communities together.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Pastor Joshua, who is preparing for his own walk from Kilifi to Nairobi. Wishing both gentlemen success in their inspiring journeys and future endeavors.

One day, epilepsy will be understood by everyone, and every person living with it will have consistent access to the care and medication they need. Until then, we continue to raise awareness, build knowledge, and strengthen support within our communities.

These photos capture an epilepsy training session today at Kuhenza for the Children that brought together patients and caregivers for a meaningful and empowering learning experience.

The session was facilitated by our epilepsy specialist Eddie Chengo who provided valuable education on epilepsy management, medication adherence, and seizure first aid. Participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing experiences and learning practical ways to support one another.

Moments like these strengthen understanding, reduce stigma, and empower families with life-saving knowledge.

Together, we continue to promote awareness, compassion and support for all affected by epilepsy.

Happy Madaraka Day from us to you πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ

As we celebrate our nation's freedom and self-determination, we also envision a future where every person living with epilepsy is free from preventable seizures, stigma, discrimination, and barriers to care.

May this Madaraka Day inspire us to build a more inclusive Kenya where everyone has the opportunity to live healthy, dignified, and fulfilling lives.

Happy Madaraka Day from the Foundation for People with Epilepsy. πŸ’œπŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ

Epilepsy is not a journey anyone should walk alone.

People with epilepsy need the support of families, friends, healthcare workers, communities, governments and strong partnerships and policies to live with dignity and access the care they deserve.

This photos was taken earlier this month when our epilepsy specialist Eddie Chengo, paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Deputy Governor of Kilifi County to strengthen collaboration in epilepsy care 🀝 πŸ’œ
