Today marks 4 years since Wezesha was officially registered with the Department of Social Development within the Ministry of Labour and Social protection as Community Based Organisation on 13th May 2022. 🎉

Over the years, we have continued empowering communities through initiatives on health(SRHR), education, governance, human rights, and social-economic empowerment. This journey has been made possible by the support of our partners, volunteers, stakeholders, and the communities we serve.

As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to creating impact, amplifying community voices, and building a more inclusive and empowered society.

Thank you, Kenyatta University, for moulding Wezesha Jamii Initiative Co-founder into a hardworking, responsible, and visionary leader.

Since the inception of Wezesha Jamii Initiative, Ms. Emmaculate Pahe has served diligently as the Executive Director, providing strategic leadership and direction to the organisation. She has played a pivotal role in developing institutional policies, strengthening governance systems, and steering the sustainability and growth of the initiative through people-centred and community-driven programming.

Her commitment to social justice, policy development, and youth empowerment continues to shape meaningful impact at the grassroots level.

We joined Kilifi South Youth Empowerment Centres to commemorate Post–World Contraception Day 2025 on 27th Sept 2025 at Lango la Sifa, Mtwapa.

Young people accessed contraceptive services, HIV testing, HPV vaccination, and cancer screenings provided through the Beyond Zero mobile clinic.

Wezesha Jamii Initiative in partnership with USAWA Agenda, has completed the International Common Assessment of Numeracy (ICAN) and International Common Assessment of Reading (ICAR) project in Kilifi County. Covering 5 areas and assessing children aged 5–16, the project will provide key insights to strengthen literacy and numeracy learning locally and globally.

Wezesha Jamii Initiative, in partnership with USAWA Agenda, successfully implemented the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (FLANA) survey in Kilifi County. The project assessed children’s literacy and numeracy skills through household and school surveys across 44 areas. The FLANA Report is now being finalized to inform interventions and strengthen education outcomes both locally and nationally.
