Greetings you all
We welcome you to this special event where we will be launching the Kilifi Youth status report.
We aim at having youth issues looked into and we cannot do so if we don't lay down concrete recommendations and solutions backed up by data.
We conducted surveys through the support of Open Institute , had Community barazas targeting the youth to have concrete data on youth matters.
It is through data that we get to effectively look into pertinent issues and have them enhanced or resolved.

KIYA is grateful for the opportunity to be hosted in an impactful event on this , amplifying the voices of girls in our community. In collaboration with , .hrc, and the High Court Users Committee, we were engaged in an insightful session on the Criminal Justice Trial Process. Participants gained valuable knowledge about their rights and learned how to navigate the justice system.

A big thank you to the host and participants for fostering these essential conversations that pave the way for a safer, more just future for our girls.

We commend the Kilifi County Government for its initiative to provide nutritious porridge to young learners at Early Childhood Development Centers (ECDs). However, concerns have been raised regarding the allocation of KSH. 100,000,000 where 69,552,000 has been used in the 2023/2024 county budget for this program. To ensure transparency and accountability, we are calling for a detailed breakdown of the expenditure, including procurement, distribution, and logistical costs. Key questions include: Budget Breakdown-How was the KSH 69,552,000 spent. Coverage- How many ECD centers and children benefited. Was the funding equitably distributed?
Quality and Frequency- Were nutritional standards met and how often was the porridge distributed
Oversight- What monitoring mechanisms ensured efficient use of the funds. We urge the county government to provide these details to guarantee that public funds are used efficiently for the welfare of our children. Highlights

This is wonderful.
Acquiring a birth certificate is an issue for our people in Kilifi county. The illiteracy level for the young parents acts as a factor.
There is however the application issue where parents get forms from cybers and they can't tell which form is to be filled. Then, there is the boundary issue where chief's don't sign forms, because of a village boundary and so forth.
Taking the matter up from the main office is the best way of handling this issue. We should have barazas where the officers visit and camp, location after location so that most people can acquire birth certificates.
