๐Ÿฆ Last week, we visited the ๐€๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‚๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ in Mtwapa as part of the project's preparatory activities aimed at supporting the development of aquaculture.

Together with the ๐ƒ๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐…๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง, several ๐…๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ ๐Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ, and the ๐Š๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ฆ, we toured the facilities and the equipment used for producing aquaculture feed, with a particular ๐Ÿ๐จ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฌ๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ ๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ž ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ข๐ง.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the activities we will be implementing together as part of the LIVE BLU-E project, starting with ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ž'๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ž๐œ๐ก๐ง๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐Ÿ๐Ÿ and other initiatives to support the development of aquaculture in the area. ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿค

On July 2, our launch event took place at the Silver Palm Resort in Kilifi โ€” marking the official start of LIVE BLU-E.

Over the next years, we'll be working side by side with local communities on three fronts:
๐ŸŒŠprotecting marine ecosystems through research and Living Labs,
๐ŸŒžbringing solar-powered energy to support fishing and the cold chain
๐ŸŸ strengthening the fish value chain โ€” from food safety to better access to markets.

๐Ÿค The dialogue provided an important opportunity to strengthen alignment on upcoming activities, with a particular focus on the ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ž ๐„๐œ๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐ฒ, ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ, ๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฐ๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ ๐ฒ, and the active involvement of local communities.
