The Thematic Message: "Entapal Emuratare Oo Ntoyie", During the Empowerment Youth Training By ELCK CREDO Kilgoris Lutheran Chapter
When you transform the life of a girl you transform the entire society. The hope of a socially, emotionally, and economically empowered nation.
Since Tuesday, December 2nd, girls from Samburu, Kajiado, Narok, and Transmara convened SouthWest Hotel, Kilgoris and their leaders for a workshop on stress management, life skills, FGM, and the cultural knowledge by the Maa Council Chairman led by Michael Leboo Nang'eya .
The girls were counseled, trained, prayed over, mentored, and prepared to face the challenges awaiting them at home, church, school, and society.
We thank Suzzane Nolari, Program Director for organizing a successful forum and mobilizing over 36+ girls, parents, and their leaders!
We also appreciate the tireless efforts of our Coordinator Reija Toikka for her vision, leadership, and unwavering support.
Thank you to Revend Joseph Ole Momposhi for your dedication, faithfulness, and commitment to this program.
According to Elder Michael Leboo Nang'ea as the Narok & Kajiado Maasai Council of Elders they recently formulated and passed the "Suswa Declaration", stating that FGM is not condoned in any Maasai customary ceremony that requires a daughter, sister, or wife to undertake the cut to be recognized a woman.
