Our Mission is to advance the rights, leadership, wellbeing, and economic empowerment of women and girls through grassroots partnerships, feminine advocacy, and sustainable, community-driven solutions Daughters of Kenya (DoK) is a National Trust Organization working towards improving and changing the lives of vulnerable girls and young women in Kenya and beyond. It was established in 2016 and regi

stered in October 19, 2017 as a Corporation Trust, having been incorporated under the Trustees (Perpetual Succession) Act Cap 164 of the Laws of Kenya. DoK strategic Programs are focused on empowering, improving and changing the lives of the vulnerable girls and young mothers in Kenya. While working in urban informal settlements and marginalized communities, we encountered several cases of abuse and exploitation of vulnerable girls which brought us to the realization that this is where help is needed the most. Our initial activities included reaching out to vulnerable girls in schools and communities in Nairobi, including those in Kibera and Mukuru slums, through life skills training, mentorship, sponsorship and provision of sanitary pads. Spurred by the support of like-minded social innovators, the organization has grown over the years. Daughters of Kenya believes in family and therefore working to ensuring that girl and young women experience the love and security that only a family can provide. We are working towards an excellent life and therefore welcome new partners and believe that together, we can achieve better results! Today, DoK continues to be at the forefront of empowering vulnerable girls and young mothers. Knight Muteti was conferred on the Award of ICONIC WOMEN CREATING A BETTER WORLD FOR ALL at the global Women Economic Forum 2017 held on 8-13, May 2017; New Delhi, India. She has also participated in leadership Training, Forums, Workshops, Conferences and Global Meetings in Uganda, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, Switzerland and France. DoK is run by an able staff team and governed by a 5 member board of trustees.

Yesterday we hosted a very successful webinar dubbed, "Building Safer Digital Communities for Women and Girls" still in the spirit of 16 Days of Activism against GBV in partnership with Maina Karobia Foundation that saw participation from all over the world.

Key takeaways included:
- The importance of engaging boys and men to change negative attitudes and end harmful online behaviors toward women and girls.
- The need for increased government involvement in all aspects of reporting digital abuse, holding perpetrators accountable, and supporting survivors.
- Making mental healthcare more accessible to aid the healing process for survivors of gender-based violence.
- The value of international networking, as these issues pose a global threat to safety and wellbeing.
- Educating young people on the importance of securing evidence, such as screenshots of abusive digital material.
- Learning from policies and good practices that support survivors, including:
- The "Empowered Aid" initiative, which gathers advice from teenagers on preventing sexual exploitation and abuse during humanitarian assistance.
- UNHCR's "Not Only Me" platform.
- ILO's Convention 190 on Sexual Harassment.
- The "No More" platform that lists referral services for survivors of gender-based violence in all countries.

Special gratitude to the Panel of Experts from the Government of Kenya to the Civil society, all the attendees and Advisory chair Clifford Biko for expertly moderating the session.
