April and May mark the season of long rains in Kenya. But even with the damp fog, our students are out playing in the free sn**ch of minutes after lunch.

One small, sweet measure of the value of nutrition is our students’ propensity to play. Thank you for the vital role you play in fueling active, happy childhoods.❤️

This pair of Grade 9 students are clear leaders in their school, directing an energetic mass of younger students with ease and quiet warmth.

Solomon (left) is the student body president. When I asked him about his plans for the future, he said he wants to be an electrical engineer to solve energy problems for Kenya. Daniel (right) plans to become a primary school teacher so he can pass on the things he has learned.

The boys gestured to the students lining up for lunch and said they hope they can sponsor a school like this someday. They said it’s good to be able to give back — so many people have given to them, and they can’t wait for their turn to give to others.

Thank you for investing in Solomon, Daniel, and their classmates. Based on the character and diligence of the students we encounter, Kenya’s future is in good hands.

In our after-school bible program, students study and reflect on passages like 1 Samuel 17.

“David was just a small guy; Goliath was huge,” KKC teacher Dominic told his students in a recent lesson. “Goliath thought he’d crush David, but David looked at Goliath and knew this guy was no match for God.”

Goliath trusted in his own strength, but David trusted in God’s strength. As Dominic explained, it matters a great deal where we place our trust.

One of the best things about the bible program is seeing our students unfold God’s word for themselves and pore over the stories and messages, delighting in a God who so clearly delights in them.❤️

Hearty, reliable school lunches help our students approach learning with clarity and enthusiasm.

“Lunch is the backbone of the school,” the headteacher at Longonot explained to us. “Food gives children the energy to think. They need food to learn. If you don’t fill the stomach, they don’t understand any other language.”

Thank you for your faithfulness in keeping our students' stomachs filled and their minds sharp and eager to learn.❤️

The largest school we work with has grown to 3400 students. One of the math teachers shared his theory about what drives this growth: “Families send their children here for two reasons. The teaching is good, and they know they’ll have lunch. That’s why they are all here.”

For our KKC students, food and learning go hand in hand, leading to a future rife with possibilities.❤️

Ms. Racheal is our longest-tenured teacher at Kenya Kids Can. She taught her first KKC computer class in 2004 and has gone on to teach and mentor hundreds of students at five different KKC schools. For 22 years and counting, she has been helping her students grow comfortable navigating a computer, while also modeling priceless lessons about kindness, grit, humility, and integrity.

We’re grateful to Ms. Racheal and all our computer teachers, who pour into their students with their steadfast dedication and patience every day.❤️

What a tender, miraculous year.

Because of your generosity in 2025, we:
-served 4,525,000 meals of githeri
-taught 13,700 computer lessons
-mentored 1,530 students in our after-school bible program

Thank you for your vital role in this year of growth and promises kept.

You can help us carry this impact into 2026 as we feed, teach, and nurture our students. Head to kenyakidscan.org/donate to give today.

Your kindness matters to our students.

Sit across from a ninth grader, and they’ll tell you exactly where they’re headed: what educational track they’re pursuing and where they hope to go to high school. They’ll light up as they share their hearty intentions of being an accountant, a nurse, a truck driver, an astrophysicist, a history teacher.

Sit across from a ninth grader, and they’ll tell you that meals at school change things at home, that their family walks lighter with this steady, reliable layer of nutrition. They’ll tell you how their computer classes have assured them that they can find their place in this tech-advanced world.

Small, daily investments in a young person’s life can add up to belief and opportunity. Thank you for your steadfast kindness in our students’ lives.

Our grade 9 students just wrapped up exams and now patiently await their results. These scores determine where they can attend high school, if they qualify for scholarships, and what educational pathways they'll pursue.

At Oiti, where school attrition for girls is high, these six students (second photo) just successfully completed grade 9. They have their sights pinned on further study: three in social sciences, one in arts/sports science, and two in STEM. We’re so proud of their discipline, hard work, and courage as they blaze paths for younger girls to follow.

Thank you for investing in our students’ lives and for dreaming such big dreams for their futures.

Some of the best things in life are quiet and unassuming. They exist as background realities that are so consistent we barely notice them: Close-knit family. Safety. Classroom lessons. Patient teachers. Filling meals.

These steady resources lay the foundation for a childhood of learning and hope. We're so glad for your daily partnership that sets the stage for our students to thrive.❤️

No matter where they live in this world, every child has a dream. Turning that dream into a living, vibrant future depends on a few essential elements: Nutrition. Health. Education. Belief.

Thank you for joining with us to nourish our students and their dreams.❤️
