Yesterday, the Lunchbowl team launched an emergency evening food kitchen, feeding 130 children and family members who have been displaced by the recent government directive to vacate their homes for a redevelopment project.

These families were given just two weeks notice to find new housing, many now sleeping in temporary shelter or forced to sleep outside.

Please donate to our Extreme Need Fund. Your support helps provide food, shelter, and hope to families who have lost everything.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who contributed to our extreme need fund to help our Kindergarten student, Patrick, who was in a devastating house fire with his family, leaving them with nothing.

Thanks to your generous donations we are able to cover all the medical costs for Patrick and his father, who will be discharged from hospital this week, and we can cover rent and the delivery of weekly food packages for the family for at least the next eight months!

Last week, three boys who first walked through the doors of Angel Kindergarten at just 3 years old came back to inspire the next generation.

Now students at one of Nairobi’s top-ranking schools, they shared a powerful pep talk and big dreams of becoming doctors, lawyers, and even neurosurgeons!

We are incredibly proud of these young men. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, dreams like these are not just imagined, they’re within reach 🙏✨

We are looking for support as very sadly on Monday evening one of our young Kindergarten students, part of our hearing-impaired unit, and his family were in a terrible house fire which has left them with nothing.

The whole family - Patrick’s mother, father, twin brothers and sister - were involved in the fire and are all profoundly deaf.

Patrick and his father have severe burns, meaning they are unable to hear, see or use their hands to sign, while experiencing unimaginable pain.

We would be so grateful for any donations or support that you might be able to spare for us to help this family in extreme need.

£1,500 will help provide this family with rent for the year, basic food, belongings and medical treatment, to help get them back on track.

Anything more that is kindly given will go towards our extreme need fund, so we are able to support families in crises such as this one in the future.

Yesterday was the first day of term at Angel Kindergarten and 35 new smiley faces joined our school!

Our kindergarten is packed full and ready to continue to provide high quality education to the most underprivileged children in Kibera ✏️📚
