Kibera IHD Sustainable projects - Christ the King Formerly this department was known as Self Reliance. It targets families and vulnerable people of the Kibera community.

It has stretched its arms now to unite the community of Kibera in economical, physical and spiritual matters in order to empower them to improve their living conditions. It promotes human dignity through empowering the community, involving and giving them the opportunity to become self-sustainable. The department is committed in uplifting the status quo of the groups affiliated to them through eco

nomic empowerment and human formation. It organizes training in small business management on various skills and teaches industrial machine operation with an aim of making entrepreneurs. A major focus of the department is to empower the groups through promoting their handicrafts, teaching techniques in workshops and marketing. We have started this project by producing nice, beautiful and well made products of everyday use that with its sale we can make possible to support the Integral Human Development Department and keep going on with the tailoring school. One of the main goals for the department is to keep it sustainable, for this reason we are trying to look for different places to market our products, whit very high quality standards.
