We celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child today by repainting some of our walls at the centre with our Golden Girls, in collaboration with the Uweza Art Gallery . The walls aren’t finished yet, but we’ll unveil the full wall later this week, so stay tuned.

We celebrate every girl today, her voice, her talent and her dreams. Every girl deserves the freedom to choose her own future.

Big news from the Uweza Soccer Academy! Five of our U15 girls have been promoted to the Uweza women’s senior team, and we couldn’t be prouder.

They’ve been playing several friendlies lately as they get ready for the 2026/27 seson. This promotion was earned through the discipline and determination they’ve shown at every training and every match.

Well done, girls. We can’t wait to watch you shine at this next level.

Yesterday we sat down with 94 learners at UTU Academy in kibera for a reading of our book, Kibera’s Unexpected Treasure, led by our illustrator, murrel. They loved every minute.

Every child in Kibera deserves a book they can see themselves in so we also donated copies of the book to the school so they can keep reading. And we are heading to more schools soon!

Our Uweza Soccer Academy women’s senior team has been playing friendlies with different teams and putting in the training as they prepare for the FKF Women’s League 2026/27 season, which kicks off soon. Last season they finished second in the league in Zone A, and we know they’ve got even more in them this time around.

Sending them all our support and good energy as the new season gets underway. Go team!
