Saidika Organization was honored to participate in the recent convened by Amnesty International Kenya under the theme:

"2 Years Post : Are We on the Right Track to Protect the Right to Protest?"

The dialogue, moderated by George Morara, Section Director of Amnesty International Kenya, brought together key voices from the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), civil society organizations, human rights defenders, students, and members of the public to reflect on the state of the constitutional right to peaceful assembly and protest in Kenya.

We were privileged to learn from distinguished panelists Dr. Annette Mbogo of IPOA and Charles Kanjama, President of the Law Society of Kenya, who shared valuable insights on accountability, civic space, police oversight, public participation, and the future of democratic engagement in Kenya.

One message stood out throughout the discussion:

Protecting the right to peaceful protest is about more than freedom of assemblyโ€”it is about strengthening democracy, accountability, and citizen participation.

At Saidika Organization, we believe informed citizens are the foundation of strong communities. We remain committed to promoting civic education, youth engagement, leadership development, and meaningful public participation.

As we reflect on the lessons from , we are reminded that democracy thrives when citizens are informed, engaged, and empowered to contribute to shaping the future of their communities and country.

In 2024, thousands of Kenyans took to the streets demanding accountability, justice, and responsive leadership through the movement.

Two years later, an important question remains:

What lessons have we learned?

Through , citizens, civil society organizations, legal experts, oversight institutions, and community voices came together to reflect on the state of the right to peaceful protest in Kenya, the progress made, the challenges that remain, and the road ahead.

At Saidika Organization, we believe informed dialogue and active citizen participation are essential for building stronger communities and a stronger democracy.

Because protecting the right to peaceful protest is protecting democracy itself.

For many girls, menstruation should be a normal part of life.

Yet for thousands of girls across vulnerable communities, a lack of access to menstrual products and accurate information turns a natural process into a barrier to education, confidence, and opportunity.

Many girls miss classes, struggle in silence, or face stigma simply because they do not have the resources or support needed to manage their periods with dignity.

Through the Smile Girl Champion Program, Saidika Organization is helping to change this story.

By providing menstrual hygiene products, menstrual health education, and safe spaces for conversations, we are empowering girls with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to stay in school and pursue their dreams.

A menstrual pad may seem small.

But for a girl, it can mean attending class.
It can mean participating confidently.
It can mean protecting her dignity.

When we address period poverty, we are not only supporting girls' healthโ€”we are investing in education, gender equality, and the future of our communities.

Together, we can build a world where no girl misses an opportunity because of her period.

๐Ÿ’œ Every girl deserves dignity.
๐Ÿ’œ Every girl deserves information.
๐Ÿ’œ Every girl deserves opportunity.

Today, as the world marks World Environment Day, we are reminded that protecting our environment is not only about conserving natureโ€”it is about safeguarding livelihoods, public health, education, food security, and the future of generations to come.

At Saidika Organization, we recognize that climate action begins within our communities. Through environmental awareness, waste management initiatives, urban gardening, tree planting activities, and youth engagement, we continue to promote practical solutions that contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.

This year's observance is a call to action for all of usโ€”individuals, communities, organizations, businesses, and governmentsโ€”to take responsibility for protecting the environment we all depend on.

Every tree planted matters.
Every piece of waste properly managed matters.
Every climate-conscious decision matters.

Together, we can create communities that are resilient, sustainable, and prepared for the future.

๐ŸŒ Happy World Environment Day!

At Saidika Organization, we believe meaningful development begins when communities are informed, engaged, and empowered to participate in decisions that affect their lives.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us during the recently concluded Finance Bill 2026 Public Participation Forum. The event brought together youth, entrepreneurs, community leaders, professionals, and citizens to discuss and better understand the proposed measures within the Finance Bill and their potential impact on livelihoods, employment, businesses, the digital economy, climate innovation, and community development.

The forum provided a valuable platform for learning, dialogue, and constructive engagement. We were encouraged by the quality of discussions, the insightful questions raised, and the willingness of participants to contribute ideas that can help shape a more inclusive future.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our panelists, partners, volunteers, and all participants who made the forum a success.

At Saidika Organization, we remain committed to promoting civic education, youth engagement, leadership development, and community empowerment through meaningful dialogue and action.

Together, we are building stronger communities through informed participation.
