We are incredibly grateful for the ESG Champion of the Year award! 🏆 We are beyond grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for our Executive Director, Beryl Ogutu, and, by extension, Africa Ability Trust, for the ESG Champion of the Year at the Nairobi Startup Summit, Your support means the world to us and validates the vital work we are doing.

It was an absolute honor to not only be recognized but to serve as the proud Disability Inclusion Partner for the summit. We brought inclusion to the forefront of innovation. Our Ability Band had the honor of leading worship and music at the very first National Christian Disability Conference in Kenya: Disability, The Bible, and The Church Conference 2026. The Ability Band consists of talented musicians and vocalists with disabilities. Our diverse team includes eight members who are visually impaired, one member with vitiligo, one amputee, and one wheelchair user. Together, we use our God-given gifts to demonstrate that everyone has a place in ministry, leading inclusive and Spirit-filled worship. Here are some photos of Day 1 worship

Sukuma Dance Kenya dancing with our Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and their families when they visited us for a mental health workshop. Having a disability or caring for a loved one who has a disability can bring a lot of daily stress. By joining forces for this event, we were able to use the power of dance to help our community improve their mental health, ease anxiety, and keep their bodies strong. It was a beautiful reminder that physical fitness and mental wellness belong to everyone, regardless of ability.

A massive thank you and so much love to the entire Sukuma team for collaborating with us to make this happen. Thank you for bringing your “Feel Better, Perform Better, Live Better” energy to our community and showing the joy of moving and healing together
