“Beyond Conversation: Bringing Rural Women’s Issues to the Table.”

Critical issues affecting women and children in rural communities cannot be solved in isolation. They require open, inclusive and solution-driven conversations that bring communities, government, civil society, development partners, traditional leaders, young people and other stakeholders to the same table.
From gender-based violence and child protection to poverty, access to education, healthcare, climate-related vulnerabilities and limited economic opportunities, rural women and children continue to face challenges that demand collective action—not silence.

🗣️ Round Table Dialogues provide a platform to listen, understand, challenge harmful norms, identify practical solutions and translate community voices into action.
The urgency is now. When women are heard, families become stronger. When children are protected, communities become more resilient. When stakeholders work together, sustainable solutions become possible.
Let us move from dialogue to action, from commitments to accountability, and from isolated interventions to collective solutions.
It is time to bring everyone to the table. 🤝🏾🌍

WODEF CELEBRATION OF:

🌍WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY | 19 AUGUST

Today, WODEF joins the world in honouring the courage, compassion and commitment of humanitarian workers and communities who stand with people affected by crises, conflict, disasters and climate change.

"Humanitarian action is about more than responding to emergencies—it is about protecting dignity, strengthening resilience and ensuring no one is left behind."

At WODEF, we remain committed to putting women, girls and vulnerable communities at the heart of resilience, recovery and sustainable development.

Humanity. Solidarity. Dignity. Action.

“Women & Girls at the Heart of Resilience: Building Climate-Resilient Households and Communities Across Africa.” 🌍♀️🌱

Climate change is not gender-neutral. Across Africa, women and girls often carry a disproportionate burden of climate-related challenges—from food insecurity and water scarcity to increased care responsibilities and livelihood disruptions.
Yet, they are also powerful agents of resilience and change. 🌱💪🏾
Investing in women and girls means investing in climate-resilient households, stronger communities, and a more sustainable Africa.
When women and girls thrive, communities become more resilient. 🌍💚

Menstrual health is fundamentally tied to agency, dignity, and gender equality. When individuals lack access and awareness, their ability to participate fully in school, work, and leadership is compromised.

When women and girls have complete control over their menstrual health, they hold the power to shape their own destinies. We are championing body autonomy, breaking down systemic barriers, and ensuring every individual has the agency, resources, and confidence they deserve.

💜 Your body. Your rights. Your power

Through the IMARA Initiative, we empower communities to take charge through:

🩸 Awareness: Driving education that fosters body confidence and breaks harmful stigmas.

⚖️ Rights: Strengthening advocacy so women and girls can claim their bodily autonomy.

🛍️ Access: Providing reliable tools and options so everyone can manage their health on their own terms.

True agency begins with control over one's own body and health.
